The agreement

What these terms cover

LightPop Studio, led by Jackie Schon Pierce in Newton, Massachusetts, offers brand photography, headshot sessions, website design, and branding projects. These terms apply to all of them; the written agreement for your project adds the specific dates, deliverables, and price you booked.

Booking

Retainers, payment, and dates

A 50% retainer holds your session or project date, and the balance is due as described in your agreement. The retainer reserves your place on my calendar and is non-refundable if you cancel, though it may be credited toward a rescheduled date when the change is made in good time. Invoices are payable by the date listed; work in progress may pause on past-due balances.

Deliverables

What you receive

Photography clients receive the retouched images described in their package, delivered through an online gallery. Website clients receive their completed site, transferred to their ownership at launch; platform subscriptions are paid directly by the client. Branding projects receive the identity materials listed in their package. Anything beyond the agreed scope is quoted separately before it begins.

Ownership

Your photos, your site, my portfolio

You own the finished work: the photos in your gallery are licensed for your business use, and your website is yours at launch. I keep the right to show completed work in my portfolio, on social media, and in marketing — including process shots from sessions — unless we agree otherwise in writing. I also keep the underlying working files, raw images, and design sources.

Revisions

Scope and rounds

Each package includes the revision rounds described in your agreement. Feedback is consolidated by a point of contact and returned by agreed dates; extended or repeated rounds beyond scope are billed at my hourly rate. Project timelines assume content, approvals, and assets arrive by the dates we plan together — significant delays may move your delivery date.

Cancellations

If plans change

Life happens, and I get it. Cancellations and reschedules work best with as much notice as possible; the retainer terms above apply. If I ever need to move a date, I will offer you the next available slot or a refund of the balance you have paid.

The small print

Liability and law

I bring care and professionalism to every project, but my total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the service in question. These terms are governed by the laws of Massachusetts, and any dispute will be handled in the courts of Middlesex County. They may be updated occasionally; the version on this page with the current effective date applies.
